Sing with Joy - Hallelua-He Is Risen

Music is central to our worship. It is a ministry of sharing scripture, praise, thanksgiving, and prayer through music.

St. Clare’s has seven different musical groups, both choral and instrumental. We welcome everyone, with no auditions!

Children’s Choirs

Childrens ChoirBeginners’ Choir (4 years old through 1st grade) and Elementary Choir (2nd through 5th grades) rehearse together on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:15. Under the leadership of John Goodell, they sing in church about once a month.

The Middle School Choir (6th-8th grade) rehearses with John Goodell on Tuesdays from 5:15 to 5:45 and sings in church about once a month.

The Children’s Choirs sing sometimes at the 9:00 service and sometimes at the 10:30 service. See How We Worship for more information about our worship services.

For Children And Adults

The Intergenerational Choir is for people of all ages who love to sing. This group is led by John Goodell, rehearsing right before worship on the Sundays they sing. The “IGC” sings primarily at the 9:00 service , and occasionally at the 10:30 service.

Adult Choir

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is for all singers high school age or older and is led by John Goodell. It rehearses Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00, with a sectional once a month from 7:00 to 7:30. The Adult Choir sings almost every Sunday morning during the school year. Love of singing is a prerequisite, but reading music is NOT. The Adult Choir sings predominantly at the 10:30 service, and sometimes at the 9:00 service.

Instrumental Ensembles

The Tone-Chime Ensemble

The intergenerational Tone Chimes Choir, led by John Goodell, is open to 6th graders and up, and plays at both the 9:00 and 10:30 services, usually once a month. It rehearses on Tuesdays from 5:45-6:45.

The St. Clare’s Ensemble is always ready to welcome new members! This small instrumental group supports the congregational music at the 9:00 service. It rehearses on an ad hoc basis, led by John Goodell.
St. Clarians love music. Not surprisingly many are accomplished musicians who play a wide variety of instruments such as violin, viola, flute, trumpet, mandolin, guitar, saxophone, piano and organ. Once or twice each month, these individuals perform postludes at the end of the 10:30 a.m. service.
